Falling into Disrepair

So, my Lord of Ultima hasn't been checked or updated in at least two weeks, and I accidentally let my EVE account run out. Granted, I've been told by fellow EVE players that it's probably not the worst thing...as captain's quarters are "completely worthless and most people have disabled them."

However, I have heard that due to the ability to make comparable amounts of ISK in empire compared to null sec, that the common empire hubs have been full with an influx of returning null sec goers looking to get in on the fun. As a result, faction warfare has taken off --and as I was a pilot for the Amarr for over a year, this somewhat perks my interest and I might might resub in the near future to see if the rumors are true. (And, of course, to look up some old faction war friends and see what their take is on this entire ordeal.)

Due to being somewhat uncaring of my LOU and EVE accounts, I have been keeping up with LOTRO, though have found increasingly better ways to make gold and have become relatively quite prosperous. This is slowly leading to my boredom of the game. I tend to be a bit of a trader and marketeer in most games I try, so whenever I 'figure' the system out...I get bored very quickly thereafter. Eve, on the other hand, has such a complicated market system with such a changing and fluctuant economy, that I never got bored with it...though after playing for four+ years, it would be nice to see some new content that is relevant and brings back my more enthusiastic attitude of the game.

Castles and Stuff

Being on satellite internet temporarily, I've turned my attentions to Lord of Ultima a bit. Okay, I confess, I'm getting much more into the game in general lately. I thought it was pretty cool in the beginning though as time went on...it was more 'so I can build lots of cool buildings and make cities...big whoop.' Now however, I'm starting to see the complexity of the game, and am getting more into the politics of my alliance and surrounding alliances.
I'm also starting a few combat cities and am looking forward to the opportunity to attack people, and plunder their goods. (muahahaha)

Unlike many people, I have not yet castled yet. (Castling, in Lord of Ultima is when you build a castle in your city, allowing that city to attack other players, and be attacked by other players.)
I've noticed that many people seem to want to castle right away. Though it's understandable to want to jump into the action, this doesn't seem like a wise move in Lord of Ultima. It is much better, strategically, to build up your resources and defenses before opening yourself up for attacks.

Free Gaming Aps: FCP for Lord of Ultima

Lord of Ultima, a real time browser game I wrote about a few days ago, can be tricky when it comes to setting up your cities. Whether you're going for a resource city, gold city, army, or whatever, it can be hard to get the 'lay of the land' and organize things in a way that maximizes your total input.

A free ap that I got from an alliance mate helps you to see your overall city, and plan for maximum prosperity:

The flash city planner allows you to arrange resources on the map to mimic the layout of your particular city. You then can arrange (and rearrange) buildings and view the resources you would acquire. (It bases numbers off of level 10 buildings.)

Lord of Ultima: A Quick Overview of the RT Browser Game

Due to being somewhat bored of Eve, and having explored most of the free areas of LOTRO, I've been experimenting with some other games, one of those being Lord of Ultima, a simple, real time browser game. I found a pretty interesting alliance, and so far have found the game to be pretty interesting.

The game is all from a third person perspective, the primary objective to build your city, start new cities, and conquer enemies. There are many strategies that can be taken as far as how to set up cities, who to ally with, how to provide defenses to your cities and how to best accomplish offensive actions.
