There's Always a Bigger Fish: The Latest in the Minmatar/Amarr Drama

Over the weekend, Pandemic Legion moved into Amamake. This is one jump from the Minmatar home base in Auga, and three jumps from the Amarr home base in Huola.

So far, I've been told by fellow Minmatar that PL are 'hot dropping everything in sight.' The only confirmed hot drop at the moment is Shalees report about their failed attempt to hot drop an Amarr Redeemer on a gate.

*Edit: As I was writing this, Pandemic Legion hot dropped (with super caps) an Archon outside the station (Huola) I'm currently sitting in. The Archon pilot was an unknown neutral.

It is currently unknown why Pandemic Legion has moved into the area, though it is probably a temporary staging point as they move on to their next campaign or war, or whatever Pandemic Legion has going on. Apparently, PL has suffered some significant losses to Goons as of late, as reported here.

A Little Perspective: A Closer Look at the Militia

So, I’ve been pretty hard on the Amarr the last few days. There has been a lot of in-game drama over hot drops, neutral bat-phoning, and Gallente militia involvement in Minmatar/Amarr territory. Not to mention some in-fighting in the Minmatar militia, local smack and trolling, amongst other things.

Something that a lot of outsiders do not understand, and something I feel I need to explain, is that the ‘militia’ is not like your ordinary alliance. You don’t have a singular leader of a chosen group of corporations working toward a common goal.

Joining a militia only requires standings, and different corporations join for different reasons. Some join to take part in roleplay. Others take part as a means to get ‘free wardecs.’ Others take advantage of the isk-making opportunities of faction missions.  For many, it is a combination of things.

However, with this being said, the actions of one individual, or one corporation within the militia can have a huge impact that is often incorrectly attributed to the militia as a whole.

SKTLANDFILL: A CEO From TEST Alliance On Leadership, Change and Big Alliance Politics

As we have all seen in our EVE careers, corporations come and go. They thrive for a while, die, get disbanded, get rebord, or simply fade away. Many pilots jump into leadership with grand plans, not realizing the dedication and work it takes to be a successful EVE CEO. Others, simply give up due to lack of motivation, lack of new ideas, or lack of involvement from other corporation members.

Over three years ago, I was introduced to a small corporation with big plans, and curiously, they are still chugging away to this day. Unlike many other corporations, their plans and goals are starting to come into fruition. Their membership has increased significantly, their leadership has welcomed new directions and new blood, and their capacity for pvp and production has increased. In addition, they went from being part of a no-name, inconsequential alliance to being a member of one of the most powerful alliances in EVE today.

SKTLANDFILL, CEO of JSR1 AND GOLDEN GUARDIAN PRODUCTIONS [JSR1]--a member corporation of Test Alliance Please Ignore, sat down with me this week to discuss leadership, change, and big alliance politics:
